In 7th grade, students explored sheep eyeball dissections, deepening their understanding of the Human Body Systems unit. They gained insights into the eye's complex connections and its role in vision, while esteemed guests, Optometrist Dr. Kelly Dasinger and Associate Professor Dr. Margaret Smith from UNG, enriched their learning with expertise on the eyes and their relationship with the brain. Thank you again to the Lumpkin County Education Foundation for making this possible for our students!

This past weekend a few LCMS students competed at 4-H Cloverleaf District Project Achievement (DPA). In this competition, 4-H’ers (4th-6th grade) choose a project area of interest, research a topic, then write and present an oral presentation to others or they share their talent of singing or playing an instrument. All of these students did a fantastic job, and we are very proud of them. Here the LCMS winners from DPA: Eleanor Moye placed 2nd in the Veterinary Science Project. Kelsey Patterson placed 1st in the Performing Arts Vocal Project. Lily Weber placed 1st in the Companion and Specialty Animals.

Today 7th graders had a special pajama day. In Science classes, students took a nap after researching the importance sleep has on the human body. In ELA classes, students argued about whether or not pajamas are appropriate to wear in public. Be sure you are getting enough ZZZZs to be a productive student!
